LIST: States with the most F5/EF5 tornadoes

No big shocker here. Oklahoma shares the top of the list of states with the most tornadoes rated either F5 or EF5 since 1950.

The Moore tornado on May 20, 2013 was the state's 7th, tying it with Alabama, which saw two in one day in 2011.

Kansas, Texas and Iowa round out the Top 5 big tornado producers, with six each.

In all, 59 tornadoes in 19 states have reached the maximum wind speed rating used by the National Weather Service.

Nebraska and Missouri, two states nestled in the heart of most Tornado Alley maps, have only combined for three F5 or EF5s. That's equal to or less than the states above and Wisconsin (3), Ohio and Mississippi (4 each).
