The Royal Oak Police station has reopened after a HAZMAT scare Tuesday morning.
The evacuation took place around 8:30 a.m. after a police officer opened an envelope containing a white powdery substance.
The substance turned out to be corn starch.
“Everyone was immediately evacuated as a precautionary measure,” said Police Chief Corrigan O’Donohue.
Police services to Royal Oak citizens were not interrupted
