Clinton Township hosts 11th annual Gratiot Cruise

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WXYZ) - Thousands are lining Gratiot today to check out the sights and sounds of the 11th annual Gratiot Cruise.

The cruise runs along Gratiot Avenue, from 14 Mile Road north of Metropolitan Parkway to Wellington Crescent and back again. Cruisers should just follow the signs.

In addition to the cruise a car show is being held at the Cruise Headquarters. It's being called the best parking spot on Gratiot! Pre-registration is required.

Among the sponsors for the cruise are Art Van Furniture, Baker College and Big Boy Restaurants.

Dorian Ford is also sponsoring a special Mid-Way in the Lowe's parking lot.

The Cruise Day Itinerary breaks down like this:

Cruise Car Show Registration Starrs, McLaren Cruise HQ (16 Mile & Gratiot southeast corner)

10:00 a.m. Kid Zone opens at McLaren Cruise HQ

10:45 a.m. Opening Ceremony, McLaren Cruise HQ

Welcome with Bob Canon, Township Supervisor
National Anthem and God Bless America
Prayer/Cruise Blessing

11 a.m. Dorian Ford Midway Opens, 11a.m-6 p.m.(15 Mile/Gratiot Star Theater Parking Lot)
Many vendors, service organizations, entertainment
Kid activities, Helmet fitting for first 500 kids

11:15 a.m. Pedal Parade, McLaren Cruise HQ

Noon VIP Parade/Cruise First Lap leaving from McLaren Cruise HQ
