For the last five years, 12-year-old Elizabeth Popovich has made it her mission to collect donations to help send Girl Scout Cookies to our men and women serving overseas in combat.
One case of cookies, which includes 12 boxes, costs $48 and she is looking to get some help.
In the first year, she collected $1,128 to send 282 boxes overseas. Last year, she raised $18,320 and sent 4,580 boxes of cookies to the soldiers.
Elizabeth is hoping to get more people to help in 2015. If you would like to donate, you can send a check made out to "Girl Scout Troop #75924" and mail it to Cookies 4 Troops c/o Elizabeth Popovich, P.O. Box #437, 51194 Romeo Plank, Macomb Township, MI 48042.
Elizabeth is also holding an event on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 20 at Emagine Theatre in Macomb Township. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. both days, you can make a donation and help send cookies overseas.
