The largest free world-class jazz festival remains committed to its jazz heritage by including 15 hometown artists to the all-jazz lineup for the 39th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival presented by Quicken Loans.

This year's collection of talented regional performers ranges from Grammy-winning artists to the Detroit Jazz Festival Orchestra, and will attract audience members of all backgrounds, ages and interests. The Festival runs through Labor Day weekend, August 31 - Sept. 3, in downtown Detroit.

During Festival weekend, an eclectic group of hometown artists will join a powerful, diverse group of jazz greats from around the world, including the 2018 Artist-in-Residence, Chick Corea. Throughout the weekend, Corea will perform a wide range of sets with his Akoustic Band, Elektric Band and a sextet with the Detroit Jazz Festival Symphony Orchestra. Another group of performers hitting the stage at this year's event is the 2018 inaugural Resident Ensemble, featuring Terri Lyne Carrington and Esperanza Spalding. The Ensemble's music will be focused on and inspired by the music of the late Geri Allen, known for her outstanding artistic talent and dedication to educating young musicians.

For those who can't make it to the Festival or those looking to not miss a performance throughout the weekend, the Detroit Jazz Fest LIVE! streaming service is returning in 2018. For $10, viewers can watch live performances from their mobile devices, tablets and desktops. The service comes equipped with several helpful features including Festival maps, the full lineup, artist bios and much more.
