ANN ARBOR (WXYZ) — Michael Krause did not show any emotion when he was being arraigned on a charge of open murder in his father's death Tuesday.

Ann Arbor Police say 30-year-old Krause beat his father to death Saturday night in their home on Watershed Drive near Green Road.

Dr. Michael E. Krause, 66, was a dentist in Ann Arbor, and Saturday night, his wife called 911 to say that her son was attacking her husband. Minutes later, police say Dr. Krause's son also called 911 to say he assaulted his father.

Mrs. Krause also told police that both men had been drinking and arguing.

Ann Arbor Police do not know if alcohol was a factor.

During Michael Krause's arraignment, Washtenaw County Assistant Prosecutor John Vella urged the magistrate to deny bond, saying the defendant "poses a high risk of danger to the community."

Bond was denied.

Michael Krause is due back in court on Feb. 14.
