WXYZ — We could see some very hot and humid days next week, but it's going to depend on how quickly the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry moves across the Mississippi Valley.

Once that area of low pressure gets squashed to the east, the jet stream will likely lift to the north and a warm, south wind will take over for several days; increasing the temperatures and the humidity.

Temperatures around metro Detroit could be in the low to mid 90s Tuesday through Saturday, but the Central Plains and the Southeast could have triple-digit heat with even higher heat indices.

Be prepared for some hot days next week. Remember to always have water with you, and take frequent breaks if you work outside.
