This is the final weekend for "She Kills Monsters," an exciting play about a young woman's journey into a world of fantasy.  She finds a "Dungeons and Dragons" notebook when her sister dies, and it opens a door to a new and amazing world.

Tickets are available at the door, online at https://www.littledoortheatre.com/ or by calling the box office at:     (586) 344-7655. The theatre is located at 21045 Van Dyke in Warren.

Remaing show dates are  8 p.m. May 4 to 6, and at 2 p.m. May 7

Producers say: "The dramatic comedy offers action, adventure, ogres and fairies, and plays tribute to the warrior and geek inside each person."  It's billed as a "dynamic" and  "hilarious" production that deals with the universal ideas of grief, family relationships and truly learning to accept yourself and others.

Artistic director Shannon Hurst plays "Tilly Evans."  She says  she selected the show for the Little Door’s first season because the journey   of self-discovery that the protagonist goes on resonated with her.    “I hope to give that same feeling to audiences who see our production,” Hurst said. “It is extremely relevant to what is going on in the world right now.”

Maggie Beson plays "Lilith" in the show. She says the play's  "exploration of bullying, self-discovery and coping with loss keep it relevant to audiences."

“There are many things to take away from the show including valuing family, friendship, loving yourself, the impact of bullying, the importance of creativity and the resilience of teamwork,” says Beson.  She says the play will appeal to audiences who appreciate science fiction, fantasy and cos-play and has elements of 1990s nostalgia.

Hurst says "She Kills Monsters" offers  action-packed fight scenes, creative costumes and realistic-looking weaponry.  “There is something for everyone within the show,” says Hurts. “I would like audiences to relate to Agnes and Tilly’s situation as they take this journey of self-discovery together and learn to accept people as they are.”
