A former Miss. Michigan is training other women to compete in beauty pageants.
(WXYZ) - A former Miss Michigan USA is dedicating her time to coaching young women in pageantry, runway and personal development.
Shannon Grace Clark-Sokol focuses on building a person's self-esteem and giving them the tools that they need in life long after a competition is over.
""I really try to teach the girls about who they are and their biggest competitor is the girl they're starring at in the mirror," says Clark-Sokol.
It took Shannon seven years to win the title of Miss Michigan USA 1999. She says she wouldn't go back to change a thing.
"I learned so much about myself and that's a lot about my training and what I do".
