(WXYZ) - Publisher Scholastic Books has unveiled the first of 7 all new covers for the Harry Potter 15th anniversary trade paperbacks.
The new covers for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and the rest of J. K. Rowling's best selling series were created by Kazu Kibuishi, the artist best known for the #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novel series Amulet.
Scholastic says each new cover is designed to depict a distinctive and memorable moment from their book. The new cover for Sorcerer's Stone depicts Harry's first trip into the wizarding world when he visit Diagon Alley with Hagrid.
Scholastic says the original cover art for the series that was created by Mar
GrandPré will continue to be featured on the hardcover and digest paperback editions of the Harry Potter novels.
The new editions will be hitting shelves as a boxed set in September, just in time to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Harry Potter's US publication.
Then, in November, Scholastic will release the first boxed set of the complete Hogwarts library in the US.
That boxed set will include the books Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Sales of that boxed set will benefit two charities selected by J. K. Rowling.
