(WXYZ) — Gas prices in Michigan dropped 12 cents compared to a week ago.

Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.24 per gallon.

AAA says motorists are paying an average of $34 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline.

"Pump prices will likely continue to face downward pressure through the end of the winter driving season, especially amid concerns about the coronavirus causing the price of crude to decline," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "However, the current refinery maintenance season could put pressure on regional refinery utilization, supply and gas prices as we approach the spring driving season."

Metro Detroit's average daily gas price also decreased, and is currently at $2.30 per gallon, about 10 cents less than last week's average.
