STERLING HEIGHT, Mich. (WXYZ) — Just mention the word "potholes" near Lakeside Mall in Macomb County and it becomes quite a conversation starter.
"On Schoenherr, that’s a challenge an absolute challenge," says Tessie Cherpes.
One viewer wrote us at our Getting Around Metro Detroit email about a pothole in Sterling Heights near Lakeside Mall. It's on Schoenherr near 19 Mile Road, a rough stretch he wanted to warn other viewers about. He writes that his parents hit the pothole two days ago:
“What was originally thought to be a blown tire and bent rim has turned into a wrecked suspension and bent frame on a 4-month old vehicle”
He says insurance will cover the damage but because they reported the incident, the insurance will rise.
“Insurance will increase by $400 when their premium renews, adding to the frustration.”
Thankfully no one was injured ... there is still financial pain
