SEMCOG asks for public comment on bicycle & pedestrian mobility plan in SE Michigan

(WXYZ) — The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments is asking the public to give comments on a Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility plan for metro Detroit.

SEMCOG is building on its 2014 "Bicycle and Pedestrian Travel Plan for Southeast Michigan" which works to expand options for pedestrian and bicycle mobility in the area. You can read the 116-page plan here, or the appendix here.

According to SEMCOG, the plan is the result of engagement from a bicycle and pedestrian task force which includes 70 representatives from local governments, state and federal agencies, nonprofits, research and education and institutions and other organizations.

The task force met five times over the course of a year-long planning service to establish the framework for this place.

  • General Assembly, March 19, 2020, 4:30 p.m., Schoolcraft College – VisTaTech Center, 18600 Haggerty Rd., Livonia, MI 48152; discuss and adopt plan.
