Today is National Cookie Day, which conveniently falls during the holiday season when treats always seem to be at your fingertips!
Cookies arrived in the United States in the 17th century. Back then, gingerbread cookies and macaroons were among the most popular. Today, chocolate chip seems to be the most treasured flavor.
To celebrate National Cookie Day, a couple companies are offering delicious offers:
- Pei Wei: Diners can get a free cookie today with the order of any entree or kids meal.
- Whole Foods: Shoppers can enjoy freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for just 25 cents each through December 6.
Hershey's is also celebrating National Cookie Day in a big way. Starting today, you can find Hershey's new Cookie Layer Crunch bars in grocery stores. They are offered in Caramel, Vanilla Creme and Mint.
