DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Big 3 Detroit Automakers have announced their 2019 profits and the amount of profit sharing for hourly workers.

These follow several months of uncertainty with their new 4-year UAW contract and a 40-day strike at General Motors.

Here’s the breakdown of the average amounts and the number of workers in the US:

  • FCA $7, 280 - 44,000 WORKERS
  • GM $8,000 - 47,000 WORKERS
  • FORD $6,600 - 53, 000 WORKERS

These same workers got several thousand dollars in signing bonuses when the UAW contracts were settled late last year.

Some workers tell 7 Action News, they are savers and some others are spenders depending on their personal situations.

At the FCA Warren Truck Assembly plant the profit sharing will come in handy as workers will be on layoff for a major model changeover starting next month.
