Technology education is becoming increasingly necessary - up to 77 percent of jobs will require tech skills in the next decade. The Geek Squad Academy is a program that’s been spreading the word to underserved youth for a decade through summer camps.

The Geek Squad will partner with the Golightly Education Center to educate students about technology skills that will be needed in the years to come. There will be lectures and hands-on activities.

The camp is open to middle and high school students ages 10-18.

The Detroit camp is one of more than 30 summer camps around the U.S. aimed at inspiring teenagers to think about jobs in the tech industry.

Each camp will serve from 100 to 400 students.
