(WXYZ) — Detroit and Flint are getting more than $1.2 million dollars in funding for water.

The money was given to the Water Residential Assistance Program from the Great Lakes Water Authority at a meeting Wednesday night.

The funding will be used to help conserve water, as well as to help cover the cost of water bills for those who need it.

The Water Authority says its one of the many ways they're working to keep water prices affordable.
