DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating after a 13-year-old boy was injured when a gun discharged in the basement where he was playing with his 3-year-old brother.
The shooting happened int he 17500 block of Avon in Detroit Saturday at 11:40 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, the 13-year-old and his 3-year-old brother were playing with a gun in the basement of the home when the gun went off, striking the teen. Police say it's unclear who fired the gun.
The teen was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
This investigation is ongoing.
