15-year-old girl arrested for allegedly shooting gun from Jeep in Pontiac

PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 15-year-old girl for allegedly firing a gun from a vehicle on Saturday night.

According to police, they responded to the area of Stonegate and Lewa Downs on the report of people fighting. Witnesses told deputies that a black female was shooting a handgun from a silver Jeep Commander.

After arriving, deputies found that the fight was in retaliation for an earlier incident, and no victim was at the scene.

As they began checking the area, they found a silver Jeep Commander traveling at a high rate of speed and pulled it over. All five people inside were identified and detained for further information, and one fo the passengers said she fired the weapon and a handgun may still be inside. They found the loaded .40-caliber handgun inside the Jeep.

Deputies took the four men, ages 17, 18 and 19, to the Pontiac substation, while the 15-year-old girl was taken to Children's Village. The handgun was found to have no record, and all four men were released pending further investigation.

There were no reports of inures or property damage as a result of the gunshots being fired.
