The 16-year-old suspect in the fatal shooting outside a Wayne recreation center has been charged as an adult, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Antoine Perry has been charged with one count of felony murder, armed robbery and two counts of felony firearm, court officials say.

On Nov. 26 around 5:20 p.m., City of Wayne police responded to HYPE Athletic Center on Howe Road in Wayne. At the scene, officers discovered the body of a 19-year-old Ypsilanti man suffering from gunshot wounds in the building's lobby.

It is alleged Perry contacted the 19-year-old male victim to buy marijuana. Police say when the victim started to drive away, Perry tried to take the marijuana without paying for it. It is further alleged Perry fired a gun at the 19-year-old, hitting him multiple times, officers say.

Perry is due back in court on Dec. 28.
