The incident took place on April 16at 11:45 p.m.

The officers were responding to a report of attempted break-ins at a home across the street, and Chief James Craig said the officers decided to check out the home across the street as well where the shooting eventually occurred.

A woman and her two sons, a 19-year-old and 14-year-old were detained by police. The 19-year-old reportedly opened fire fearing a burglary.
