2 fatal shootings under investigation in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating two fatal shooting that happened overnight.

Here's what police know so far:

2:42 a.m. Saturday, Fatal shooting on 17000 block of Pinehurst

A 911 caller heard shots fired and saw the suspect run around a car to the driver's side and fire several shots into the gold 1999 Saturn.

The unknown suspect then left the scene running northbound on Pinehurst with no shirt.

The victim, who was sitting in the Saturn, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Police he was about 20 to 30 years of age, wearing a yellow shirt and gray gym shorts.

Police say the person responsible is still on the run.

1:30 a.m. Saturday, Fatal shooting on Plainview/North of Joy Road

A 27-year-old male victim was shot in the chest by a suspect with dreadlocks riding in a gold Pontiac Grand AM. Police say the circumstances of the shooting are unclear at this time.

The victm was taken to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the armed suspect has not been identified.
