2 Metro-Detroit high schools among nation's best

Two high schools in Metro-Detroit are ranked among the nation's best, according to a new release from U.S. News & World Report.

TheInternational Academy, which is part of Bloomfield Hills Schools, along with Chippewa Valley Schools' International Academy Macomb, are ranked number nine & 12 in the United States, respectively.

These rankings are published every year, and data was taken from 21,000 public high schools in all 50 states.

Schools received their rankings based on a number of factors, including performance on state assessments, graduation rates, & how prepared the students are for college.

Both schools are also ranked number one & two, respectively, as the best high schools in Michigan.

The Metro-Detroit high schools rounding out the top 20 of that list includeSeaholm High School in Birmingham,Saline High School, Grosse Pointe South High School, Troy High School, Arbor Preparatory High School in Ypsilanti, Novi High School, Northville High School,Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills, Rochester Adams High School, & Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor.
