ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — An Amazon delivery driver was shot at while delivering packages in Rochester Hills Friday.

The contracted Amazon.com driver was delivering packages around 7 p.m. when he encountered a red Dodge Dart with black stripes, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The 28-year-old Amazon driver and resident of Eastpointe, told deputies he had passed the vehicle near the intersection of Letica and Bluff roads when it began following him. The victim then attempted to lose the Dodge by turning down another street, but the suspects in the Dodge eventually caught up to him and pulled alongside the victim's vehicle.

The suspects, two men, allegedly pulled out semi-automatic handguns while next to the Amazon driver. That's when the victim drove away. The suspects then began firing four to six shots at the victim's vehicle.

The victim was able to get away by driving into the Vanhoosen Museum parking area. The victim told police he last saw the suspects driving westbound onto East Tienken Road.

When authorities arrived to gather a report, investigators found that the Amazon driver's Pontiac Grand Prix had three bullet holes in the trunk. One of the bullets traveled through the trunk lid, passing through the rear passenger seat and into the driver's seat, just barely missing the Amazon driver. A bullet was also recovered from the rear bumper of the vehicle.

“This is a terrible incident and we are thankful the delivery driver is safe," Amazon said in a statement. "Amazon will work with law enforcement as they investigate.”

Police are now looking for two suspects in this case and have posted a stock image of a vehicle similar to the suspect's. If you have information on this crime, contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
