(WXYZ) — Today is the 34th day in a row to hit 80° in metro Detroit; the second-longest streak, only behind a 45-day stretch in 2011 from June 26th to August 9th.

We haven't had a day in the 70s this summer since June 25th.

If metro Detroit reaches 80° each day the rest of this week (which it looks like it will), it will only be the 3rd time July hasn't had a day in the 70s since records began 145 years ago.

For the first time in several weeks, we have an outlook of below-average temperatures in the next 6 to 10 days from the Climate Prediction Center. A pool of cooler air is poised to move over Michigan from Canada next week. This will likely give us highs in the 70s Monday through at least the middle of the week.

If you've been waiting for cooler weather, you should be looking forward to next week.
