3 children killed, 4 others hurt in Lansing house fire

LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) — Three children were killed, two others hurt and two more adults were injured after a house fire in Lansing overnight.

According to the fire department, the house on New York St. went up in flames around 1:33 a.m. Wednesday.

When crews arrived, they found very heavy fire conditions on the first and second floors. Family members said three children were still inside the house.

Crews located the children and got them out of the house, and in all, seven people were transported in the fire.

A 3-year-old, 5-year-old and 8-year-old died in the fire.

Officials say an 18-month-old is in stable condition, a 5-year-old is in critical condition, a 26-year-old woman is in stable condition and a 31-year-old man was taken to the University of Michigan burn center.
