EASPOINTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Animal Control Division of Eastpointe police is trying to determine where a Ball Python came from.

The 3-4ft long snake was found in the backyard of a home on Rein Avenue, near Stephens Drive.

Officers say he appears to be in overall decent shape and maybe someone's pet that snuck away while outdoors.

The Ball Python is not native to Michigan.

The snake has been turned over to a reptile specialist for proper care and holding purposes.
