4th annual Community Conversation on Bullying happening in Waterford this week

WATERFORD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Defeat the Label and Meemic Insurance are bringing the 4th annual Community Conversation on Bullying will be held in Waterford this week.

It's happening on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oakland Schools Conference Center at 2111 Pontiac Lake Rd.

The discussion will be led by national and local experts in education, healthcare and law. The goal is to provide children, teens and adults the tools and information to help fight bullying.

It will also include Michigan Teacher of the Year Melody Arabo, who will talk about the Bully Mindset Shift, and Matthew Roth, and assistant U.S. attorney and chief of major crimes, will talk about cyber bullying and harassment.

“Bullying will continue to thrive until we address this crisis as a united community,” Harlin said. “Meemic is honored to partner with Defeat the Label for our 4th Annual Community Conversation on Bullying to keep this serious issue at the forefront of conversations for students, educators, parents and business leaders to drive visibility, support and action.”
