As we first reported on 7 Action News, law enforcement sources say 5 teens, all boys, have been questioned in connection with the incident of throwing rocks off the Dodge Road overpass on I-75 in Genesee County Wednesday night.

The crime scene investigation continued Friday afternoon, shutting down the southbound lanes for about an hour in the afternoon.

Authorities are documenting the timelines and distances. They also flew a drone to take video of the scene.

The sources tell 7 Investigator some of the teens are cooperating and some have attorneys.  T

he picture that is emerging is the were playing a game of “dinging” where they throw a rock down to hit the metal on vehicles to hear the “ding.”

The teens only wanted the thrill.  They never intended to kill.

Thirty-two-year-old Kenny White was killed when a baseball size rock went through the windshield of the vehicle he was in as a passenger.

Officials had said they were investigating the case as a murder.  Behind the scenes they are sorting out what charges to issue against the various teens.
