(WXYZ) - The Detroit Police Department confirms that the 5-year-old who was allegedly abducted by her noncustodial mother on Monday has been found safe in Texas.
Police say Zoie Jackson was picked up from a Detroit school in the 12600 block of Burt Road by her mother Carmela Jackson.
Jackson does not have custody of Zoie and has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar disorder and postpartum depression.
Police say a county deputy pulled over Jackson for driving erratically in Texas. It was then that the deputy discovered that the vehicle was wanted in Detroit and took the mother into custody.
Zoie will be held by Child Protective Services until the family is able to get to Texas.
