The Wyandotte Street Art Fair kicks off Wednesday. It's one of the state's largest fine arts festivals!

The art fair is in its 55th year. Art can come in many forms at the Wyandotte Street Art fair, from sculptures, jewelry and paintings!

Nancy Byrum paints on the spot for a reason.

"I paint in acrylics and it dries quickly," she said.  "People love to watch.  I actually started painting at art fairs because people thought it was photography."

She is self taught and sometimes forgets how good she is.

"I actually didn't know I could paint, I was doing crafts," Nancy said. "So I've been painting now 16 years."

If you like an artistic medley for your mouth, you will find plenty of food here.

Michael Zakany owns Jose Madrid Salsa.

He said, "We are an artisan salsa and we are online and we are not in very many grocery stores."

There are plenty of things for children to slide into and have fun!

If you like art with a purpose - check out wooden craft pens and ice cream scoops.

"I have my workshop at my house so it's enjoyable thing," Jerry Neikirk of Jerry's Nature Design said.  "I've been doing this now for five years and I've turned a little over 7,500 items."

One man's trash is another man's treasure and that's rings true with recyclables too!

There are liquor bottles that have been turned into lamps.

"I'm doing something different for the guys. The woman guilty because they were out spending their husbands money, so they got to take them home something," explained Don Oakley of Eco Stuff by Don.

If you want to check out the art fair it runs through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
