Layah Vasser is only 8-years-old and she's already a published author.

She says it took her about two months to finish her first book "Cat Girl." The book is about the adventures of a young girl who becomes a superhero to save animals.

"It touches your heart. One of the best gifts to give to our children is to inspire them to think," says Layah's dad, Jerome Vasser.

"I was so excited I told the principal, told everyone all about it. Everyone needs to know about my baby's book," adds Chelsea Vasser, Layah's mom.

Layah plans to write at least one book every year. She's currently working on a series.

Purchase Layah's book "Cat Girl" here. It's $5.99.
