Unforgettable, heartbreaking, tearful images at the Mexican border.

Small children snatched from the arms of their mothers and fathers – a pain like that is so hard to witness, but imagine feeling it.

A Brighton family kind of knows how those children feel. When they opened their homes, their hearts, to perfect strangers.

Two young boys who needed them. The children were forced to flee their country.

As Action News found out, in the end, they truly needed each other after all.

“We all pretty much universally, unanimously and very quickly agreed, its just the right thing do,” said Todd Rooney, a foster father

In just a few months, Todd and his wife Tianna said the experience has been enriching for them as well as their two biological children.

“I think my lesson learned is how quickly you can love another human being," Tianna said. "I  could say to them, I love you and I’m glad that you’re in our life."

Tianna, who would tell anyone to open their hearts to help someone in need.
