(WXYZ) — Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib responded to comments made by President Trump where he implied four Democratic congresswomen, including Tlaib, weren't natural-born American citizens.

The tweets came after many Democrats had been visiting the border, taking videos of holding facilities and declaring conditions inhumane.

Although Trump did not name the women, it is widely believed he was referring to Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Trump implied in the series of tweets that the congresswomen weren't born in America and sarcastically suggested, "they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Pressley are natural-born US citizens, while Omar was born in Somalia and immigrated to the US when she was young. Omar became a citizen in 2000 when she was 17 years old, according to the New York Times.

Tlaib responded to Trump's comments, calling him a "weak bully."

"Keep talking, you just make me work harder," Tlaib tweeted. "I'm proud of my Palestinian roots and a weak bully like you never wins. This is what America looks like.".
