(WXYZ) — Gas prices in Michigan are up 12 cents compared to last week, AAA Michigan reports.

Drivers are now paying an average price of $2.71 per gallon for regular unleaded. Although this price is 28 cents more than this time last month, drivers are still paying about 1 cent less than this same time last week.

Motorists are paying an average of $41 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline.

"While prices may continue to fluctuate, the springtime increase is not over yet," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "With the summer driving season on the way, motorists should expect gasoline prices to continue rising as gasoline stocks tighten and demand increases."

The most expensive averages were found in Traverse City ($2.80), Saginaw ($2.77) and Jackson ($2.75). The least expensive were found in Benton Harbor ($2.66), Flint ($2.66) and metro Detroit ($2.68).
