(WXYZ) - The accused I-96 shooter Raulie Casteel has been found competent to stand trial.
The proceedings were held at the 53rd District Court in Howell Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Casteel is accused of opening fire on drivers along I-96 during a two-week period this past October.
One person was hit when a bullet went through the victim's driver's side door and entered his hip. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Casteel faces numerous charges in Livingston, Ingham, Shiawasee and Oakland counties. The most serious of which are Assault with Intent to Murder and Domestic Terrorism. Both carry sentences of up to life in prison.
Wednesday's hearing only establishes competency and does not imply criminal responsibility. A preexam conference will be held next week in Howell where a date for the preliminary hearing will likely be set.
