OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — All lanes of westbound I-696 are blocked at Dequindre Road as of Friday morning due to a crash.
Police say a black vehicle cut off a semi-truck, causing the driver to slam on the brake, which caused the load to shift on the semi.
There are currently steel coils on the freeway and in the cab of the truck. Officials say the freeway will be closed for another 20-25 minutes. Then, 1-2 lanes will be re-opened.
Three people involved in the crash went to the hospital. Two were evaluated and one reportedly had a separated shoulder.
