(WXYZ) — A home for adults with developmental disabilities is getting a much needed makeover, thanks to Gardner-White.
Angel’s Place helps provide care for life and now the furniture store is helping furnish one of their homes in Bloomfield Hills.
Cheryl Loveday of Angel’s Place said, “It’s not just a house, it’s not just housing, it’s a home, it’s family, it’s care for life.”
Four men, including James, live in the house that’s getting an upgrade.
“Yes, we are very excited,” he said.
The furniture was getting worn and the wall needed repainting.
Angel’s Place has about 20 homes in metro Detroit and serves more than 100 adults.
About a month ago, they contacted Gardner-White asking for some help.
“This is one of the homes that really needed help and so we are jumping in and giving them that upgrade,” Julie Nagle of Gardner-White said. “Help fill that need in the community, especially at a time that the holidays are so hard.”
The company is donating $10,000 worth of stuff.
Loveday added, “Angel’s Place is very grateful to Gardner-White and to the community at large.”
Now that the home has been updated, they will be putting up Christmas decorations.
