Artists from around the country are gearing up for the free event that is technically four art fairs in one and takes up 30 city blocks.

It takes organizers months in advance to plan, just ask Spokesperson Karen Delhey.

“We’re already talking about next year,” she said.

If there was an artist you like last year, chances are they’ll be back this year.

But about a third of the tents you’ll check out will be of artists who’ve never displayed their work at this event before.

“It’s, honestly, never the same show twice.”

You will find sculptures, paintings, jewelry, glass, pottery and fibers.

Organizers say the Ann Arbor Art Fair is an event for the whole family.

“There’s also an art activity zone for kids of all ages. We like the adults to get in there too and get their hands dirty and try being an artist for a day,” said Delhey.
