Shots were fired at officers today after two separate hotels were robbed several hours apart in Livonia.

Police say on Thursday morning, a person wearing a clown mask robbed the Embassy Suites hotel.

That first incident, we're told, happened around 7:12 a.m.

Several hours later, the Days Inn on Plymouth Road near Ann Arbor Road was hit by another person wearing an orange mask, possibly a pumpkin mask, according to authorities.

After that robbery, a police chase followed and that's when shots were fired at officers.

The suspect in that robbery was able to escape officers.

Police do believe the two robberies are connected.

Police say they are looking for a black male, armed with a handgun who was last seen wearing a black hoodie and grey sweatpants.

The suspect is also reportedly driving a royal blue Chevy Impala with no license plate.

If you have any information regarding these incidents, please call police.
