It's time for this weeks Around Town!

The art if glass making is intriguing and now you can get a chance to create a one of a kind piece to give as a gift.

“I think we make it look fairly easy and when people try it they say, ‘oh my gosh this is really hard to do,’” said April Wagner of Ephiphany Studios.

At Epiphany, you can make an icicle ornament to give as a present. The holiday workshops are being offered starting Friday for $60.

They are also opening their doors this weekend for folks to come in and purchase some beautiful glass pieces at a discount.

“Watch us work, see the work we’ve made this year on display, purchase some amazing handmade gifts for their friends and family,” Wagner said.

And because Wagner and her workers love helping feral cats living near the studio, a portion of the pet-themed items goes to the Michigan Humane Society.

Wagner says supporting the studio is a win-win.

“To get something handmade by a local artist is keeping your money right here in this economy and supporting the diversity and special culture of this area,” Wagner said.
