It's Friday and pay-day, and if you plan to hit the ATM machine, be aware.

Police say crooks are using convenience store ATMs to steal your information and access your money.

They do it using skimmers, and cops have found three in the past week all inside 7-Eleven stores.

In Royal Oak, they found one inside this store  at Main and 13 Mile and another one on Campbell and Derby.

In Madison Heights, police say they found one attached to an ATM machine at the 7-Eleven on 12 Mile and Dequindre.

Crooks attach the small device to the machine where you would normally swipe your debit card. That skimmer then scans and copies the information associated with that card, like bank account numbers.

Police do not know how long the skimmers were attached to the machines or how many people may be in jeopardy.

At one store, police say an employee found the skimmer device attached to the ATM. In the two other cases, it was customers using the machine who noticed something was wrong.

Police remind you to look at the ATM machines carefully before using them and to always monitor your bank activity.
