Auburn Hills police officer rescues man from burning vehicle

(WXYZ) — Auburn Hills police say an officer rescued a man from a burning vehicle early Saturday morning on I-75.

According to police, they were called to the area of I-75 and Joslyn Rd. around 3:41 a.m. Saturday for a report of a vehicle on fire with a man trapped inside.

Police say Officer Duggar was first on scene and used his fire extinguisher on the fire, and eventually giving it to a witness who continued using it while the officer worked to remove the driver.

Eventually, Officer Duggar was able to remove the unconscious driver from the vehicle and carry him away from the scene.

Other officers and emergency personnel arrived and assisted with life-saving efforts.

Police say the man was taken to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
