Two business owners are furious and looking for answers after two men brazenly drove a truck through the steel gate of their store on East 7 Mile Road and stole tires and expensive rims.

Kaytlyn Dell and her husband own A & J auto repair, and Kaytlyn says they’ve never had trouble before.

"We were shocked," she said. "We didn’t expect it. We had never had a problem before. We don’t really know what we’re going to do. It all happened so fast. We’ve never had a problem like this."

The robbery happened around 3:45 a.m. A pick up truck is seen on surveillance video ramming into the repair shop, then two men jump from the vehicle and run inside.

The thieves managed to steal between 15 to 20 rims and tires.

"I just hope that they get payback for that and it’s just sad," Kaytlyn said. "It’s sad you have to go to that extent to go rob somewhere in the middle of the night."

She added that the damage to the building is about $3,000 and stolen goods cost between $5,000 and $6,000.

"We leave the rims outside," Kaytlyn said. "We let people come in and see what we have but now we can’t trust anybody anymore."

Dell filed a police report with the Detroit Police Department, but says they need the public’s help identifying the men seen on video.

"I hope they get caught," Kaytlyn said. "I hope that they get what they’re asking for and I hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else."
