TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) — Though voting has been relatively steady so far in metro Detroit, there have been a few minor issue with ballot machines in three different precincts.

Precincts in River Rouge, Ecorse and Taylor all faced some slowdowns with ballot processing Tuesday morning.

In River Rouge at Ann Visger Elementary School, there were long lines when the polls opened after their ballot scanner stopped working. The city clerk asked Dominion Voting systems to bring a brand new machine, and voters were soon able to move through the polling place more quickly.

In Taylor, the poll manager told 7 Action News the ballot machine got jammed earlier Tuesday, causing an hour delay. But the machine has since been back up and running.

Lastly, in Ecorse at Precinct 9, technical issues caused temporary delays as well.

Despite the few technical glitches, poll supervisors at each location assured 7 Action News everyone is getting to cast their vote, and most people we’ve talked to say the waits are not too bad.
