FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills had a $160 million expansion and renovation for its emergency center.

The hospital has added space and advanced medical technology for its emergency, trauma, surgery and critical care.

The hospital's new east pavilion has an advanced emergency and level II trauma center and a critical care unit was built into the new south tower.

“This ambitious project helps ensure the campus continues to fulfill our vision of providing high-value and high-quality health care," said David Claeys, president of Beaumont Farmington Hills. "We have an excellent team here, and I look forward to helping Beaumont, Farmington Hills become the community’s top choice for hospital-based care.”

The new 20-bed critical care unit will cater to severely ill or injured patients needing constant care and close supervision. It will feature large, private patient rooms.

In addition, the new surgical suite will feature robotics to help perform precise operations. The new emergency center has 39 enclosed universal treatment rooms that will increase privacy.
