Bees in the D will be placing beehives on rooftops of Detroit buildings, including the Bedrock-owned building on 615 W. Lafayette in Detroit.
Bedrock placed a honey bee hive on the building Thursday morning in conjunction with sustainability efforts. In the coming months, the building will welcome five additional hives.
A Bedrock spokesperson says teh company hopes this model will be replicated to more buildings in the near future.
Bees in the D is a nonprofit organization that contributes to both the health of honey bee colonies and the education of their importance to the environment.
