You'd be surprised about what can slow down that Wi-Fi signal in your house. And let's be honest: We all love a fast internet connection.

Happy National Social Media Day!

Wait, but isn't that every day? Well, consider today the official day to celebrate thanks to Mashable.

Many of us can't go a couple of hours without checking social media and our mobile devices are always glued to our hip.

In honor of today, a representative from Comcast, Rob Ponto, joined us in studio to talk about our WiFi speed and the things we can do to make sure we get the most out of our routers to enjoy an endless amount of social media.

Some tips include:

Boot out the old devices
“Well if your internet is slow..take a look at your equipment, these old timers…probably time for them to go.”

Location, location, LOCATION
"You want to treat your wireless gateway or router like a plant, you don’t want to have it in a closet, or in the basement, or under the stairs. You want to have it out in the open.”

Beware of the fish tank, and other objects
"A lot of things affect WiFi signal in the home like water…fish tank…cordless phones, construction materials—like granite.”

Biggest mistake people make?
“Putting it in the basement or a back bedroom.”
