(WXYZ) — New bodycam video shows a Michigan sheriff visibly intoxicated while asking a deputy not to arrest him for drunken driving.

The video shows a deputy knocking on the window of Midland County Sheriff Scott Stephenson's vehicle and waking him up while his vehicle was parked along the side of the road in Kalkaska county last month.

Stephenson told the deputy he was on a deer hunting trip and admitted to drinking earlier in the day.

A breath test revealed he had a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit – he then asked not to be arrested.

"Jesus Christ, I'm a sheriff," Stephenson said in the video.

He pleaded guilty last week to operating a motor vehicle while visibly impaired. He was placed on probation for a year and was also fined.
