WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A U.S. Border Patrol agent was assaulted while trying to arrest a known undocumented immigrant in Waterford.
The assault happened around 7:30 a.m. Friday.
According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson, the subject absconded from the agent during the altercation.
Border Patrol and local law enforcement agencies responded to assist in the search for the subject "which lead to negative results for the subject," according to officials.The search was called off at around 10 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
